Nature
It needs a fresh coat of paint
Nature needs a fresh coat of paint
Fallen trees have made a complaint
The bare skin of the Amazon
Is turning into an endless lawn
As fires and diseases ravage
Bringing irreparable damage
Will we rise through innovation?
It’s the best hope for our civilization
First, we must take stock and protect
Our main asset, nature, it’s in distress
The restive elements are speaking
The water we drink, the air we’re breathing
Pollution is an alien nightmare
To lifegiving clothes the earth wears
That we drink, we eat, and we breathe
Living in cities that have begun to seethe
Is concrete the landscape of the future?
That isn’t such a farfetched rumor
Let’s restore the decency of nature
Before we melt its last glacier
Employing armies of seeds as painters
We will minimize future dangers
Scions we may never see will be grateful
Leaving earth as it now is hurtful
To those who care about morals
Let’s set aside our petty quarrels
Joining hands and to paint the land
Turning green newly minted desert sand
