The Ego

The ego bridges all the gaps
So the mind won’t collapse
In that pillarless cavern
Each thought become a lantern

Thoughts are not sufficient
Even if they are beneficent
To defend against the darkness
The ego and mind find harmless

As the sun rises, we dive
In the mind, as if a succulent hive
Teeming with thought-filled baits
The mind throws open its gates

Its structure is kept intact
Despite being completely packed
Around it, entire lives are built
The prosperous ego will not wilt
