It’s the same sea everywhere

Common waters we share

We give different names

Birthing conflicts with our claims

The seas rise and fall

As waves slowly crawl

Through water, we unite

Sea is the same, day and night

We build our islands

They are dry highlands

Where the sea disappears

We forget, with passing years

We yearn for the salty froth

The seas’ undulating cloth

Resembles consciousness we wear

Like the same sea everywhere
