Virus of ignorance
It‘s running rampant
The virus, of darkness
Has turned us heartless
Time will leave us behind
Misery may come to remind
The foundation of indifference
Is from a practice of ignorance
It cannot be easily uprooted
Like bedrock, it’s deeply seated
Hope rises like the warmth of dawn
Tempted by the flawless paragon
Of knowledge and intelligence
That nature provides in abundance
It’s inherent to its eternal laws
There has never been a pause
The earth hasn’t stopped for breath
Its tedious orbit has no death
It’s equitable in spreading light
By turning on itself, day and night
If only knowledge could lavish
Its riches, making darkness vanish
For that, the mind will have to turn
Away from its eyes, and discern
An old source of light from within
It is wisdom’s fraternal twin
Together, wisdom and light
Make the virus of ignorance alight
When the pedestal is reclaimed
The heart’s rightful place is regained
