Warmth

A poem
Warmth from the breath
Comforts vagrant life
Asking it to stay put
In islands of ignorance
Until seeds ripen
And flower into reality
Not the mind’s version
It’s warmed by desire
Setting peace alight
As we escape the present
Into a cold unknown
Where we light fires
To spark a new future
It pulls us far away
From the tender warmth
This moment is time’s infant
It needs our attention
When we kindle affection
Life comforts us with warmth
