Worry
Behind dark clouds, there is hope
We hold this question
With dogged obsession
About losses and gains
In each, the worry remains
The future is a mystery
To the past, it’s contradictory
Both of them hold our worries
They deny us a life of ease
It is ours for the taking
Right here, we’re forsaking
The promised low hanging fruit
As we water a different root
Of worries, small and big
It’s everywhere we dig
In the mind, we find
Worries can be confined
Health and wealth are a worry
The world’s changing in a flurry
But there is a safe ground
Hope hasn’t run aground
When we get back to the basics
We realize, we are in an oasis
Where there is an abundance
When awareness is in attendance
In the present, we’re worry-free
When we aren’t straining to forsee
Behind the dark clouds of worry
It’s anything but dark and dreary
